Wild Rice Burger Recipes

Ingredients

  • Cooked wild rice – five cups
  • Finely diced mushrooms – one cup
  • Mayonnaise – One and a half cup
  • Eggs – four
  • Panko breadcrumbs – one cup
  • Cumin – four tsp.
  • Garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper – one tsp.
  • Cayenne pepper – half tsp.

Steps

  • Mix all the above-listed ingredients.
  • Take a one-cup measuring cup. Scoop up this rice mixture and form patties. If you feel the mixture is too wet, you can simply add some more panko breadcrumbs. You can also place the mixture in the fridge for a few minutes until it sticks together.
  • Take a nonstick skillet and pour two tbs of oil. Heat the pan on medium-high and place the wild rice patties. Fry the patties until they are nicely browned on both sides.
  • Once the patties are done, put them aside. Wipe the skillet with a paper towel and place it on the heat. Toast your burger buns. You can use whole-wheat buns or multi-grain buns. Potato buns are also an option as they are light and tasty.
  • Once your buns are thoroughly warmed and lightly browned on the inside, start assembling your burgers.
  • Lather a sauce of your choice on the pace bun. You can use barbeque sauce or a mixture of ketchup and sriracha.
  • Place a layer of arugula on the base bun. You can also put some sliced avocados over the arugula. Next, place your wild rice patty. Add a slice of Muenster cheese over the wild rice patty.
  • Place the top half of the bun over the patty.
  • Place your burgers on the skillet once more. Cover the skillet with a lid and put on low heat for a few minutes. Through the steam, the cheese will melt, and the whole burger will hold together nicely.
  • A wonderful way to serve these burgers is with roasted cauliflower. Brush raw cauliflower florets with some olive oil. Sprinkle with a tad of salt. Place the cauliflower in the air fryer until crisped.
