You can also add sauces, such as tomato ketchup, sriracha, or sweet chili sauce. This fun spin on the hamburger sure is unique and incredibly tasty.

Ramen burgers were originally invented by Keizo Shimamoto, a ramen enthusiast who had spent a significant amount of time studying the art of making ramen. The original ramen burger won the first position in the 17 most influential burgers survey by Time Magazine.

  • Swiss or Cheddar cheese slices

Steps

  • Start by cooking your ramen noodles. Cook the noodles as indicated on the packaging. Drain out your noodles one minute before the indicated time.

  • Once slightly dried, divide these noodles into four portions.
  • Take a cast-iron skillet and heat it. Pour and heat the vegetable oil until the pan shimmers. Place a ring mold in the pan. Pour your noodles into the mold and gently press down with a rubber spatula until an even, thin layer forms. Place three other molds and place the noodles in each mold. Press down and form round, thin layers. Let the noodles cook for 3 minutes on each side. Flip the noodles carefully and cook the other side. Both sides should be lightly browned.
  • Transfer the noodle piles to a plate and put them aside.
  • Place the grounded beef in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and the ramen seasoning packet. Lightly combine.
  • Take the cast-iron skillet used earlier and wipe it with a paper towel.
  • Form two balls from the grounded beef with your hands.
  • Place the balls on the skillet and press down with a spatula until the balls flatten into a patty shape. Sear both sides of the patties until they reach the level of doneness you prefer. Place the slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt.

Ingredients

  • Instant ramen noodles – two
  • large eggs – two
  • Ground beef – three-fourth pound
  • Soy sauce – one tbs.
  • Sesame oil – one tsp.
  • Vegetable oil – three tbs.
  • American cheese – three slices

  • Chili-garlic sauce or srirachaSriracha – two tablespoons
  • Arugula 0 one and a half cup
  • large eggs – three

Steps

  • Boil and pot of water and add the ramen noodles. Stir the noodles now and then and let them cook for three minutes. Drain and allow the noodles to cool.
  • Take a bowl and beat two eggs. Season the eggs with pepper and salt. Stir the noodles in the eggs until the noodles are coated, and put the noodles on a plate.
  • Take six burger-sized bowls or ramekins. Put the ramen mixture in equal amounts into each bowl.
  • Lay a sheet of plastic loosely over each bowl. Stack the bowls over each other so the noodles inside flatten. Put in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  • Take a bowl and place the ground beef. Mix the sesame oil and the soy sauce in the beef. Divide the beef mixture into three equal parts. Form burger patties out of each part.
  • Take a large skillet and pour one tbs. of vegetable oil. Bring to medium-high heat. Invert the ramen bowls on the skillet gently and carefully. Tap the top of the bowl until the ramen loosens and is on the skillet. The ramen should maintain the bun shape.
  • Fry each ramen bun for three to five minutes on each side. Fry until the ramen buns become golden brown and crispy. One side should be more crispy, the other a little softer.
  • Take the same skillet you fried the ramen buns in and add another tbs. of vegetable oil. Place the beef patties and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side. Use a meat thermometer and place it in the center of the patty. When it reads 140 degrees F, take off the patties. Put a slice of cheese over each burger and cook until the cheese melts.
  • Mix the ketchup and chili garlic sauce and spread over the ramen buns. Place some arugula in each bun as well.
  • Place the patty over the base ramen bun and top with a fried egg. Fry the egg until the yolk is almost firm.
  • Top with the second ramen bun and serve immediately.
  • Tip to make the ramen noodles more flavorful: Put the ramen seasoning packet in the noodles instead of salt and pepper as they boil.
